Alarm Systems

With crime constantly on the rise, people are taking every precaution to protect themselves and their possessions. The number of home invasions each year is always increasing. Sometimes, the headlines will show that those home invasions end in murder. People go into panic. Alarm companies get a flooding of phone calls from people wanting quotes and immediate installation of alarm systems. Even households that don’t have alarms systems find ways to get the little stickers that claim there is an alarm in the house and plaster their windows with them. Floodlights are installed at porches and the darkest corners of yards.

Alarm systems can be a wonderful asset to your home. Not only can they ensure your family’s safety, but you may find the value of your home increases and you get some discounts on your insurance as well. Plus, the feeling of security for your family – that’s priceless. A lot of alarm systems nowadays aren’t just focused on burglary. You may also be notified of a fire or carbon monoxide. At the same time that your family is made aware of the situation, the alarm company is getting the message as well and making sure that every effort is put into keeping your family safe. A big turn-off for many people is the monthly fee that the alarm systems bring to the mailbox. Depending on what kind of security you want, the costs may be more than what you are comfortable paying. However, it may be more than worthwhile to find a way to pay that additional expense each month for that gigantic peace of mind.

Unfortunately, alarm systems on vehicles aren’t always worthwhile. Think about it – we all hear car alarms going off each and every day. Most often, it is the owner who accidentally set them off or someone walks too close to the car and sets it off. Usually, a car thief won’t target a car that has an alarm system. Or, if they do – they’re smart enough to know how to deactivate the alarm system before they even attempt to get into the vehicle.

The most effective alarm systems are put into homes. Vehicles can be replaced – lives and the invasion of your privacy cannot be replaced. There are lots of other safety precautions that you can implement into your lifestyle as well. Trimming the shrubbery around your windows and doors can take away hiding places from those who may want to find a way into your house. Making sure that deadbolts are on each door – and being used is a great way to keep people out. Having a peephole in your main doors allows you to look outside and see if anyone is on your porch. Keeping a porch light on during the night can be a huge deterrent. The best thing that you can do, is to walk around your house. Imagine you are locked out and need to find a way inside. Think about all of the things that you could do to get inside and ways that you can keep people on the outside. Being aware of your surroundings and being smart about your house can be just as effective as an alarm system. When it comes to your family, you just can’t be too careful.

Alarm Monitoring Adopts Mobiles and the Internet for ‘Connected Security’

Security for homes and businesses has until now been a limited choice of either ‘bells only’ or professional monitoring.

‘Bells only’ requires your neighbours to hear the alarm and do something about it. But with so many false alarms, most are now ignored. And even the police are unlikely to respond to ‘bells only’ unless there is some visual indication of a crime taking place. Not a very reassuring option for most of us.

Monitored security usually means signing a 3-5 year, long term contract with expensive monitoring and maintenance charges to pay each month. That’s on top of the cost of the alarm system and installation which could be up to several thousand dollars. Alarm monitoring can be expensive, usually only suitable for businesses and higher income households, but the new connected security devices are changing the market and giving consumers more choice.

Today, mobile phones and the internet are an integral part of our lives, enabling us to stay in touch from virtually anywhere. It makes sense to extend that freedom and flexibility to the protection of homes, businesses and those that we care about. Now, the global reach of mobile networks and the internet has been combined with security devices so that protecting what’s important to us when we’re away, is now easy and affordable for anyone.

There are many consumers and businesses that cannot justify the cost of traditional monitored security, but still want to be reassured that their property, possessions and family are protected. Now, consumers and businesses can monitor and manage their security remotely, from wherever they are.

For example, if someone leaves their home or workplace and forgets to set the alarm, they can now simply phone the connected alarm device or send it a text and it’s set. No more worry, dashing back or asking a neighbour, colleague or friend to check it. And if the connected alarm is triggered for whatever reason, nominated contacts will receive a text message straight away with the option of also receiving a picture or even live video of the monitored area, direct to a mobile phone or an internet connected PC. An example of a new connected-security product is a wireless, Portable GSM Security Alarm Camera which has motion detection and sends text alerts and pictures over mobile networks to your phone or to an email address.

We’ll be seeing more of these mobile and internet connected security products coming to the market, as more companies offer these innovative self-monitoring options. The future looks brighter for consumers who now have more choice when seeking a monitored security solution that meets their individual needs.

Stopping burglars with house alarm systems

The popularity of house alarm systems is an answer for the growing need of increased security for our homes. Safety is the responsibility of the homeowner and no matter where you live, burglary is always a possible threat to you and your loved one’s home.

We all aspire for the finer things in life like beautiful cars, a nice home and a happy family life. But the intangible things play a more important role for a meaningful life, such as safety and security. Safety is the most important thing we could practice to protect our loved ones from imminent harm. It is a known fact that law enforcement could only do so much to preach the merits of security and that despite increased efforts, a burglary incidence takes place every 12 seconds. We’re pretty sure that law enforcers are doing the best they can to eliminate the bad elements of society; but for the simple task of ensuring the safety of our own home, house alarm systems fit the job description well.

Studies have shown that house alarm systems will reduce the incidence of theft dramatically as these systems act as excellent theft deterrents. A house without a security system is about 5 times more vulnerable to burglary than a similar house that is protected by a security system. This alone should serve as a guiding light for the average consumer.

Alarm systems installed in cars have a bright LED light to show the status of the security system. This LED light acts as a theft deterrent. When thieves see this bright light, they will think twice about any malicious intent as the car is clearly protected. The same holds true for house alarm systems. A home that is protected and is made known by this fact will give burglars second thoughts about any intent of breaking into the house. The level of security is unknown to most potential thieves, but the knowledge that a security system is installed in your house will make them think twice about any evil actions.

Prevention is always the best cure to any ailment and potential problem. Prevent crime in your neighborhood with the installation of a security system for your home. When it comes to safety and protection, it is always best not to take chances. Crime prevention begins at home.

Door Security Systems A Must In This Market

When trying to pick out those little extra things for your home, you need to have a firm understanding of what is actually “extra” and what is completely necessary in nature. The problem with a down economy is that people want to cut corners, when all too often they simply need to make sure they are doing everything in their power to improve their home’s market value and protect the assets that they actually have. So what is one of the things that you can’t just write off as a luxury item in a down economy? Door security systems are that important.

There are quite a few reasons why you might want to install door security systems in your home, all of them touching on some different aspect of your life. The first and most obvious thing is safety. It doesn’t matter how much it costs, most of us will choose to protect our family if we can do it. In most areas around the country, neighborhoods are not crawling with people who want to break into your home, but that doesn’t mean you can write off the possibility completely. The truth is that there are some bad people out there, and door security systems can ensure that you don’t become their victim.

One of the things that goes along with installing door security systems in your home is that you get the peace of mind that only comes with knowing your most cherished assets are protected. You can sleep easy knowing that, for one, the system is going to deter anyone who might have thought about breaking into your home before. In addition, if someone actually does try to bust down the door, there is a good chance the door security systems will scare them off well before you have to take action.

Another really nice reason why installing these systems is a good idea is that you can get a lot of mileage out of them in the real estate world. When you list your home on the market, your goal is really to make that home stand out. In talking with real estate professionals, one of the things that they consistently mention is that you have to do something to make your home stand out above the crowd. When people leave their visit to your home, there has to be something memorable that will make them choose your place over some of the others that they will visit. What better thing to make an impression on a young family than door security systems that will enhance the safety of their children?

If you are going to cut corners, there are some that you just can’t leave out. Your family’s safety and security are things that you can’t afford to play around with. Whether you are trying to sell your home or you are looking to simply make your place more secure, there are affordable door security systems that will transform your home for a relatively small price.
